ESTIMATE TRAINING & ANALYSIS
The objectives of this project were to analyse the company’s repair estimates and identify areas for leakage - i.e. common omissions and mistakes on estimates that ultimately were leading to lost revenue.
Weekly training was undertaken to help improve the estimator’s knowledge and capabilities.
In just 4 weeks we were able to reduce leakage by training this repairer’s estimators to ensure they were capturing the full applicable repair costs for the work being undertaken.
These were repair operations that were being carried out in the workshop but not included in repair estimates due to lack of understanding on the software being used and inconsistencies in workshop processes.
We implemented training and a system of monitoring over a period of 4 weeks to ensure understanding and found that, after this period, the estimators were averaging over £280 more per job than beforehand.
As a repairer averaging 20 jobs per week, they will now add almost £300,000 to their annual turnover.

Additionally, they have enjoyed a healthy profit increase throughout the year; from -8% in Q1, to 20% in Q4.
